This one must disassemble... permanently!

Haha, no, not really. But I've said this before & I'll say it again: I gotta stop being such a wiener.

A recent report on Aktuelles Kamera has informed the public of the DDR that I am amazing. In order to counter the efforts of the Red propaganda machine, all loyal citizens must follow this link:

Jeff and I were talking about getting our general degrees this year and starting over in science - him in chemistry, me in physics. To be honest, I've that's one of the best ideas I've heard in months.

but I'm beginning to understand a lot of things that I couldn't wrap my head around before

I've been thinking about the Gramsci quote on the sleeve of Worker's Playtime, let's see...

"How many times have I wondered if it is really possible to forge links with a mass of people when one has never had strong feelings for anyone, not even one's own parents: if it is possible to have a collectivity when one has not been deeply loved oneself by individual human creatures. Hasn't this had some effect on my life as a militant--has it not tended to make me sterile and reduce my quality as a revolutionary by making everything a matter of pure intellect, of pure mathematical calculation?" - Antonio Gramsci, 1926

I wanna fall in love with everyone I meet.

Just about ready to explode Arvin's astonishingly round head.

I mean, I get the idea that math assignments are all about practice, but this shit is getting ridiculous.

*sigh* ... start again

Here's a question:

True or false: 5x^2 = 5^2 * x^2

I really can't remember if that applies for coefficients, or just for variables.

It's essay time! That obviously means I'm writing in my LJ.

Let's see...

Jane Siberry now gives her music away on her website, but you can pay for it if you want. Amazingly, most people offer to pay. This is highly cool, so I've been on a huge Jane Siberry kick for the past couple of days. Similarly, I'm trying to download the Raincoats' first album. No luck. Damn you, bit torrent.

My huge Street Hassle kick seems to be on its way out, which is a shame. I was enjoying that, glorifying really bad production is a fun pasttime.

Yeah, I really should be writing a paper. Need to finish it tonight, so that'll be fun.

Something to say. Don't know what it is yet. Raincoats seems to be going now.

OK, so I was thinking...

Ben said it takes me a year to write a song. He is about correct. I also have no clue what songs are about when I'm writing them. Obviously they're about something or someone, and it's pretty specific, but damned if I know what's going on. Which makes deliberately writing anything difficult.

I realized I could equate the process to one I once heard about for calculating the value of pi:

1. Draw a circle, inscribe it in a square.
2. Divide that square in to quarters, and take one of them along with the according slide of the circle.
3. Throw a bajillion darts at it.
4. Count how many darts landed inside the circle.
5. (Darts in circle)/(Total darts) = pi/4

The beauty of this is you can define the properties of the area and the boundary with no knowledge except being able to say "Is this in or out?" Iterative is the word, I guess.

Also, this can be applied to any sort of conceptual space. Need to define a problem? Just throw some conceptual darts at it!
